AboutCotswold 332 was formed in 1969, one of the initial sub aqua branches established within the BSAC organisation. The branch currently has a diverse membership of approximately forty members, aged from 14 to 50+. We have members who are relatively new to the club and others who have been with the club over 20 years. Within the branch is a varied range of experience, some members have only just started to dive whilst others have progressed to advanced diver level and some further to a instructor qualification. Members use a local pool for training, swimming, testing equipment and to practice diving skills. Members families and partners are welcome to attend the pool on club nights although we ask that children are supervised by a parent.

These include the Annual dinner and dance, BBQs, Skittles and Quiz night, Guy Fawkes Night Dive at the Cotswold Water Park (including underwater pumpkin carving, fireworks and BBQ).Diving abroad can also take its toll, and there are many ways to relax.
DivingCotswold has an active and varied diving programme, including beach dives, dives utilising the branch boat and charter dive boats. The locations include the South Coast, Scilly Isles, West Wales, Orkneys, Northumberland Coast, Farne Islands, together with overseas locations such as The Skelligs in Ireland, French Mediterranean and the Egyptian Red Sea.The branch dives can be a single day, a weekend or sometimes a holiday involving a liveaboard charter boat. Some members choose to dive solely abroad while others dive throughout the year in UK waters. Cotswold is an active member of the Area Interbranch Group, this allows us to combine and share with other BSAC branches: training facilities, charter boats and dive holidays.
TrainingCotswold Branch actively encourages members to develop their diving skills. After initial training as a BSAC Ocean Diver members are encouraged to progress to other levels and also to attend Skill Development Courses, such as: Boat Handling, First Aid, Chart work, Rescue Management, Oxygen Administration and Underwater Photography.Initial training comprises theory instruction in a classroom and practical instruction in the pool and later in sheltered open water. Pool and sheltered open water training is given by qualified instructors preferably on a one to one basis, maximum one to two ratio. Trainee divers progress at their own pace being continually assessed by their instructors. The minimum SCUBA equipment required for training can be provided by the branch, a fee of £20 per month is charged for this service; to cover service and maintenance cots. Trainees are expected to provide their own mask, fins and snorkel. On completion of the intial course trainees have the option to purchase the equipment from the club, at an agreed price less the monthly fees already paid.
